Farnell Property Sourcing is run by John Farnell, a Lancashire buy-to-let landlord of thirty years. The houses we source are the houses we would buy ourselves.
Our story
Thirty years of holding houses.
We started buying Lancashire terraces when the market looked nothing like it does now, and we kept buying through every cycle since. Holding houses as investments is a good business model — a slow one, but a durable one.
Three decades of doing it means three decades of learning the unglamorous parts: which streets let in a week, what a fifty-year-old roof really costs, which tenant profile suits which house, and how a purchase price that looked clever in spring turns into a problem by autumn.
We buy houses to sell to buy-to-let investors, and we source property for investors who want that deal flow without running the search. It is a small operation on purpose: you deal with the person who viewed the house and did the numbers.
We work in Lancashire because we know it. We will not pretend to be experts in a market three counties away in order to win a fee.

Comparables and achievable rent, not asking prices and optimism. If the numbers do not stand up, the deal does not go to you.

If a house has a problem, or if buy-to-let is the wrong home for your money, you will hear it from us early.
